Employee Spotlight interview: Dawn McPherson – Accounting Manager

 

When did you start your Dicon career?  March 13, 2007

What do you do – in your own words?  Accounting, payroll, human resources, and a LOT of miscellaneous items for the office.

Favorite part of working here?  Without a doubt, all the people that I work with, Dicon employees, as well as subcontractors.

Are you originally from Omaha?  If not, how did you end up here and why did you stay?  I was born and raised in Council Bluffs, Iowa and moved here to Omaha when I got married.  I think that in itself explains why I stayed.

Do you have any hobbies?  Concerts, I love my concerts!

What’s your favorite local restaurant?  I have pretty simple taste.  Applebee’s or Olive Garden are top choices for me.

Who’s your team (ie: baseball/football)?  If I had to choose a team it would be the Green Bay Packers, but I would much rather go to an NHRA drag race.

How do you like to spend your free time?  I love spending time with my grandchildren!

Tell us about your family?  Kenny and I have been married for 18 years.  Collectively we have 4 children, 8 grandchildren, and our baby Bella – our Pomeranian.  We also have an inherited cat, Taz, from my mother.

If you could have ONE superpower – what would it be and why?  The ability to time travel – it would be great to go back and see loved ones that are now gone and hopefully erase a few mistakes along the way – and possibly be able to see what the future holds!
